BILOCATION - SPACE GARDEN MIX Specially mixed by Steve Marshall, for Shane Quentin's CRMK radio show The Garden of Earthly Delights in 2004, this mix is designed to be played on stereo speakers - not headphones. It contains several different formats of spatial sound: transaurally-processed binaural, RSS and Q-Sound. For best results, play on small speakers that are close together - on a boom box, or computer speakers. Some sounds will then be heard to magically appear outside of the speakers! The spatial recordings used to make Bilocation have been mixed with other sounds, mostly from vinyl:- Sounds in Space - An Introduction to Stereo Sound ~ Narrated by Ken Nordine, 1958 Joe Meek describes his Home Studio, 1962 The Quiet Hour ~ Patience Strong, 1963 A Journey into Stereo Sound ~ narrated by Geoffrey Sumner, 1958 Rhythmiques ~ Funky French Library Music, early 70's Garden of Earthly Delights ~ Space Jingle by Steve Marshall Dick Mills (BBC Radiophonic Workshop) ~ Electronic Music & Rocket FX The Instruments of the Orchestra ~ Sir Adrian Boult, 1968 Instruments of the Orchestra ~ Yehudi Menuhin, 1961 Pepe Domenguin ~ Bongos from 'Wild Stereo Drums' 1961 Megablast by Bomb the Bass ~ Special RSS Space Sound Mix, 1988 High Fidelity Demonstration Record (Test Tones) 1960 Peter and the Wolf ~ Narrated by Frank Phillips, 1969 |
